Hello.
2nd May is the date of the British Shell Collectors' Club Convention in Theydon Bois Village Hall, out towards Epping Forest just NE of London (and on the Central Underground line).
During the day around 200 people from all over the UK and abroad will visit to display, swap and sell specimens and to chat about shells, molluscs, fossils, etc.
Why not pay it a visit - and maybe even have the Geobloggers in the pub event in one of the lovely old-fashioned pubs in the vicinity?
Just a thought... After all, the Mollusca provide many very important fossil representatives throughout the Phanerozoic.

Sounds like a fantastic event. Wish I were going to be in London. If you ever come to NYC for one of these, count me in.

Silver Fox: That's the intention. I'll be in California in late July, and Chris from Highly Allochthonous maybe in the US too. If the Twitterverse is anything to go by, somewhere called Eureka is being floated as a meeting point.

Man, that sounds like fun! Will be elsewhere, however. Maybe we could try to do one when you are in the US this summer.
